I know that you shouldn’t open an email that you don’t know who it is from and that you should keep all the emails that you have got from the person.
Have I presented material about cybersafety before?
Yes, at the end of last year (at dio) we did a cyber bulling and other bulling forms.
Do I understand what I have to do? Is there anything I don’t understand about this activity?

What is the task?
What do I want to accomplish in creating a poster? A quick easy way to tell people about cyber safety. How do I want to interest others in my topic? By large bold easy to read words. Though pictures and words. Do I want to present an informative poster that can be used as a reference? Yes I would like to make a poster that is informative poster that other people our age can use. Do I want to present a warning poster that alerts people to danger? Yes I would like to make a warning poster that warns people of the dangers in the cyber-world. Or some combination of those goals?

What do I need in order to do this? I need some more information on what the people around our age would like in a poster. What they need to know. What materials do I have? What resources do I need? I have the internet and the class which I could ask. Should I do more research on cybersafety? Yes I think I could do some more research on text bulling.
Who will be looking at this work? How can I appeal to other students?

People our age will hopefully will use my poster to learn more about text bulling. I can appeal to other students by using bright colours and short sharp messages that will stick in their head.

Are there examples of cybersafety posters or materials that I can look at?
Yes there are and have been. The teacher has shown us some examples of posters on that i think would work well for our age group.

What are the obstacles? What problems may happen?
I might not be able to some of the effects on the images that I have.

Can I draw a diagram that will help me to visualise my work? Draw some rough ideas for posters.

How many ideas can I think of?
List as many ideas as possible. Cell Phones, lap tops, Psp, Nintendo, bright colours showing a whole range of pictures that have portable gadgets, bully’s

What aspects of cybersafety interest me? What would I want to see on a poster? Bullying and unsafe areas on the internet.
Consider the advantages and disadvantages of each idea.
Are there any other subjects to consider? Cyber safety as a whole. Protecting yourself as in passwords and codes not to give them out.

What resources (books, websites, etc.) have I been provided with? Laptop, camera and video camera, class mates.
What do other people think about this? Do others think I have a good idea? Yes they think that I could get the message across though pictures and words but they think that some long words are needed.

Which is the best idea?
Which are the best ideas? Prioritise the 3-5 best ideas. Cell phones, bully’s, bright colours showing a whole range of pictures that have portable gadgets.
Explain your reasons for choosing these. What are the arguments for and against each idea? Laptops maybe not because teens don’t really like laptops because they are heavy that is why cell phones is a better idea.


Which idea is the best one for completing the task? Which idea is best for accomplishing my goal? Cell phones.

How will I keep track of my progress? What are my milestones?
Possible list of steps:

Did I complete the task as originally set out? Did I solve the problem? No I changed most of my ideas. But I did solve the problem.
Is the text as interesting or informative as intended? Yes it is informative.
Are the graphics and images appealing? Yes my pictures are appealing.
What have I done? I have worked my pictures in to a easy to read and fun to look at way.
What have I done really well? Is there anything that stands out as particularly good? My title and phone I think are good.
Is there anything that needs improvement? Should I go back and redo anything? My text which weren’t planned could be reworded.
Am I ready to communicate my ideas or show/display my work to others? Is the poster ready to be shown to others? Yes I think it is.

Who can I tell? Who is my audience? My audience is the age group between 10 and 14. Tweens to the begging of teens.
What is the best way to present this to my audience? Magazines
How do I interest other students in my particular subject? By showing others my work.
Did I include the right text/graphics/images to inform and appeal to other students? yes

Learn from experience

What have I learned?
If I had to start this activity all over again, how would I improve my performance? Would I change my work habits? Would I use a different subject or different design? Would I only make small changes? I would know exactly what I want to do and stick to it. No I would not change my design or subject. Yes I would change small things.
How have I improved since that last time I worked on a similar task? Yes I have different and better ideas now that I am older and know what people want.
Have I learned anything about my subject or about appealing to others or about presenting information? yes
Can I use that elsewhere? Yes I can use this when I am older if I do anything like this again.
How has my thinking changed as a result of this work? I think more about the way that the poster will appeal to people.
What skills have I learned and developed? I have learned how to use gimp.
Can these skills be applied to other subjects/activities? No. Depends on what job I want.
What problems did I have to solve? Were there obstacles in developing ideas, researching material, or presenting the material? How were they overcome? I had to solve how to use the layers when they disappeared and then when I didn’t know how to do a border I found out why. I didn’t know how to get started and then when I got going I needed to know what I would put on my pictures. I asked around on how to get started and I just sat down and got stuck in then.

How did I use the strengths of others to help me? I asked what would appeal to them in a poster and they told me what they would like. Pictures and short words.
